Jonathan Breech · On The Edge

“If you want to kill yourself, you can’t really go wrong if you drive a convertible car over a cliff at fifty miles an hour. There’s a sure thing… I broke my baby finger. No seatbelt. The police said if I had’ve been wearing my seatbelt, I would have broken my neck.”

Sebastian Flyte · Brideshead Revisited

“If only it could be like this always. Always summer, always alone, fruit always ripe.”

Susanna Kaysen · Girl Interrupted

In the paralell universe the laws of physics are suspended. What goes up does not necessarily come down; a body at rest does not stay at rest; and not every action can be counted on to provoke an equal and opposite reaction. Time, too, is different. It may run in circles, flow backward, skip about from now to then. The very arrangement of molecules is fluid: Tables can be clocks, faces, flowers. These are facts you find out later, though.
